The Music Business Diploma Programme offers students the opportunity to learn and experience all aspects of Music Business and is designed to train future professionals for the Music Industry. This industry is rapidly changing and therefore a strong knowledge of past, current and future trends is required to be successful in this industry in the near and foreseeable future.

Assessment method and award

Throughout the course, students submit a number of prescribed practical exercises which are designed to test a wide range of skills. Throughout the course, students undertake a substantial project with an artist of their choice within the guidelines set by the Institute. This project counts a significant amount towards their final course mark. Theoretical progress examinations are held at regular intervals over the duration of the course and it culminates in a final written examination.

In addition, theoretical assessment includes the preparation and submission of a written research project on a subject of the student’s choice which has been previously approved by the Programme Co‑ordinator. In order to qualify for the SAE Music Business Diploma, candidates need to reach an overall assessed mark of seventy (70) percent (theory and practical).
